Tryouts

No experience is required, however, it is preferred. Any University of Iowa Student or Faculty member is eligible to play, however, our conferences have minimum credit hour eilgibility requirements. This means if you do not meet the conference eligibility requirements, you cannot participate in conference events but can participate in non-conference events. The University of Iowa Men's Volleyball club is funded by the University of Iowa Division of Recreational Services. This funding covers all administrative expenses as well as some travel expenses. Club Dues are approximately $250 for the season. All travel expenses not covered must be paid by the player (mostly food). The season runs from September until the National Tournament, typically held the second week in April. Practices are held twice a week at the Fieldhouse, usually in the evening. We will be forming two teams, Iowa Black (1st Team) and Iowa Gold (2nd Team). The Black Team is in the Big Ten Men's Valleyball Association (BTMVA) and the Gold team is in the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball Association (MCVA). We face strong competition and expect a high level of commitment, however, schoolwork is always a higher priority than volleyball.
